FM Footprint Joins the FlowMatrix Suite: Free Order Flow for Everyone

A full order-flow chart style, free for everyone

FM Footprint is joining the FlowMatrix Suite, and it is 100% free. No license, no trial, no paywalled features. It is a complete NT8 chart style with its own rendering engine, and it has one headline feature that makes the rest possible: it does not require NinjaTrader's Tick Replay.

No tick replay. No catch.

Most NT8 footprint tools ask you to enable Tick Replay and re-download historical tick data for every instrument you watch. FM Footprint skips that. Every tick is classified and aggregated in real time: quote rule when bid/ask is available (trades at or above the ask are buys, at or below the bid are sells), tick-rule fallback when it is not. Works live and on historical data equally.

A complete order-flow canvas

Six independent rendering layers you can combine freely:

• Footprint cell grid: buy/sell split per price row, volume heatmap coloring, optional cell bars, and tick aggregation to group N ticks per row.
• Profile bar: six modes (Total, Split, Delta, Stacked, StackedPercent, ValueArea), left or right side, optional inline delta text.
• Mini candle: tiny OHLC inside the footprint so you never lose the bar's direction.
• Delta footer: buy, sell, net delta under each bar, color-coded.
• Stat bar: bottom-of-chart dashboard (Σ, B, S, Δ, Δ%) that stays legible at every zoom.
• Hover popup: Dense (price ladder with Bezier connectors) or Cockpit (donut + delta gauge) tooltip. Scroll with Ctrl+Wheel.

Our own candles, with order flow baked in

FM Footprint ships with its own candle rendering, not a skin on top of NT8's. The body is reconstructed from the footprint's buy and sell volumes and split into two halves (vertical or horizontal) with five proportion curves: Raw, Amplified, Delta-based, Winner Takes All, and Exponential. Color saturation reflects dominance, and an optional POC tick marks the per-bar point of control.

Imbalance and absorption

• Diagonal imbalances: rows where the bid/ask ratio crosses a configurable threshold.
• Stacked imbalances: consecutive imbalances promoted to a stronger signal.
• Absorption: imbalances on the wrong side of price, flagging aggressive volume that failed to push.

Advanced studies

• POC Max/Min channel: Donchian-style envelope of per-bar POCs.
• Stacked imbalance zones: rectangles at clusters of consecutive imbalances, extending right until broken. Three break modes (Touch, Traversal, Close) and a configurable max age.
• Absorption zones: rectangles at clusters of absorbing rows, same break-mode controls.
• Naked POCs: rays at every untested past POC.
• Unfinished auction: extreme row with both buys and sells, lined forward until retest.
• Exhaustion / single prints: dots at thin extreme rows.
• Delta divergence: price vs. delta mismatch, five marker shapes.

Session anchors built in

The levels most traders draw by hand are auto-anchored to the current session: Initial Balance (high, low, optional midline), Session POC, and Session VWAP with two fully tunable sigma bands. Optional right-edge labels (IBH, IBL, IBM, sPOC, VWAP).

Six presets. One click. Your own templates on top.

FM Footprint has a lot of knobs. You should not have to touch all of them. It ships with six built-in templates, each tuned for a different way of reading the tape:

• Default: clean baseline, use it as a reset.
• Orderflow Trader: imbalance-centric, stacked zones, delta divergence.
• Clean: heatmap only, all overlays off.
• Heavy Stats: every layer on.
• Scalper: tick-by-tick, tighter imbalance, exhaustion markers.
• Swing: aggregated, low-noise, naked POCs.

Pick one, tweak it, save your tweaks in one click. Templates are plain .fmfp XML files, so you can share them by email or in Discord. Your last-used template auto-loads on every new chart.

How to get it

1. Download the FlowMatrix Suite.
2. In NT8, open Tools > Import > NinjaScript Add-On and select the .zip.
3. Restart NT8.
4. On your chart, set the Chart Style to FM Footprint.
5. In the same dialog, change the Bars Type to one of the FM variants: FM Footprint Minute, FM Footprint Tick, FM Footprint Range, or FM Footprint Volume. The FM bars types carry the order-flow aggregator that powers the footprint, so this step is required.
